Adult Mixed Choir:
-Leads and faciliates the participation
of worshippers in liturgical celebrations and enhances liturgies

Altar/Rosary Society:
-Each woman of the parish is considered a member of
the society. The primary function of the Society is to provide
funeral dinners. Members of the parish are called upon to provide
dishes for the funeral dinners. Volunteers are needed to help
contact parishioners to provide dishes, prepare the meat and
potato, serve the dinner, and work the dining room. Additionallyy,
the Society provides for the Red Cross Blood Mobile staff luncheon
in June, makes baptismal stoles, washes linens for the liurgies,
and provides poinsettias to parish shut-ins at Christmas time.

Altar Servers:
- A ministry open to boys and girls
starting in the 4th grade though adulthood. Usually attend one
or two training sessions in order to assist the priest at Mass,
weddings, funerals and other liturgies.

Folk Group:
- An instrumental musical group that leads and facilitates
the participation of worshippers in liturgical celebrations.

Eucharistic Ministers:
- A group of men and women who after preparation and
commissioning distrubute the Body and Blood of Christ during
the celebration of Mass. Some of the Eucharistic ministers extend
their ministry by taking communion to shut-ins, and those in
the hospital and nursing homes.

Funeral Choir:
- Helps provide musical leadership and support for
song at the funeral liturgy. This choir is very dedicated to
the needs of the family and strives to enhance the liturgy.
There are no regular scheduled practices. We meet immediately
preceding the funeral Mass to practice.

Funeral Committee:
- Comes together with the family at the time
of death of a loved one to help plan and carry out the funeral
liturgy. We share a book of appropriate readings and a list
of music for the family to choose from. We provide Lectors,
Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, and servers if needed. A funeral
liturgy aid is printed with the readings and music selected
by the family. This aid also has the prayers and responses of
the mass for anyone that would not be familiar with the liturgy.
We arrive early to the funeral liturgy to assist the family
in their needs and offer a source of support.

Greeters:
- Warmly welcome all persons entering the
Church for worship.

Lectors:
- have the primary role of proclaiming the Word of God in such
a way that is comes to life in the hearts of the assembly. Those
called to this ministry must have a loud, clear speaking voice
and possess good communications skills, speaking directly to
the parishioners through the sacred scriptures. A workbook for
Lectors is provided to assist in preparation. Training sessions
are mandatory.

Liturgy Committee:
- members have many responsibilities.
This committee collaborates on the seasonal planning for Sunday
worship through the liturgical year, and also plans various
sacramental celebrations and other prayer experiences for example:
Penance services, station of the cross, Holy Hour, etc. This
committee also provides ongoing formation for liturgical ministers
and continues to be educated on the rites of the church

Ushers:
- Our ushers have the role of creating an atmosphere
of hospitality, welcoming parishioners and visitors as they
arrive for Mass. They arrange items that need to be readied
for Mass, reserve pews, help people find seats when needed and
take up the collection. They pass out materials to parishioners
as needed and select families to carry up the gifts during the
offertory.

Youth Folk Group:
- A vocal and instrumental group consisting of youth
members of our parish (grade 6 and up) who lead and facilitate
participation of worshippers in liturgical celebrations. Practice
is usually held once a month or a week before the next mass.
Youth members of St. Anthony's are encouraged to join as well!

Health Ministry:
- Made up primarily of parishioners working
in health care professions. Members join together to offer programs,
information on wellness topics and health screenings to minister
to the physical, spiritual and emotional well being of fellow
parishioners.

Good News Prayer Group:
- Area people gathering weekly to sing praises
to the Lord, intercede for the needs of others, and be open
to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Meets Mondays @ 7: 15 p.m.
-9:00 p.m. in the rectory basement.

Maintenance Committee:
- This team helps advise on major decisions about major repairs,
large maintenance improvement projects and preventative maintenance
for our church, hall and rectory.

Men's Softball Team:
- Open to males age 15 and up. An opportunity to participate
in a recreational activity while enjoying Christian fellowship.
Organized through the Norwalk Park & Rec., summer league
games are generally played on Friday nights and some Saturdays
against other area churches.

Prayer Shawl Ministry:
- Shawls and lap warmers are hand made with love and prayers.
These gifts are given to individuals in need of spiritual strength
and healing during times of illness or unexpected trials. No
meetings, work at your own pace, no age limit, men and women
welcome. Step out in faith and become the hands of the Holy
Spirit in action and make a shawl or call with the name of a
person in need.

- Assists the needy of the parish and local community.

Trash to Treasure Ministry:
- A group of people who assist our school by cutting, bundling,
counting labels, coupon and Box Tops. Support this ministry
by saving IGA receipts, Campbell Soup labels, Box Tops for Education,
Tyson Labels, Dominoes Pizza Proof of Purchase and aluminum

55 Plus Group:
- A welcoming community of men and women ages 55 and up which
meet Monthly. Meetings are announced in the parish bulletin.
Members and guests enjoy fellowship while planning additional
activities of a social, spiritual and educational nature. A
calendar of events is developed each December foe the succeeding
year. Upcoming activities are highlighted in a monthly newsletter.

- Provides instruction for parents who plan to have their Children
baptized.

Marriage Preparation:
- Preparation for engaged couples designed to cover the expectations
of married life. Engaged couples explore issues of spirituality,
communication, finances, and family planning. Contact the parish
office six months prior to the wedding date.

P.S.R.:
- Our Parish School of Religion aids our parents who send their
children to public school in the responsibility of passing on
our Catholic faith to children of our parish. Our program begins
at the preschool age of 3 and continues thru the 8th grade.
Our Program also provides formal sacramental preparation for
First Eucharist/First Reconciliation & Confirmation.

R.C.I.A.:
- The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA ) is a liturgical/catechetical
process designed to prepare adults for
initiation into the faith community and for the celebration
of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
Parish members are needed to help in several ministries of RCIA.

Special Needs:
- Collaborative effort of area parishes to be all-inclusive
in our faith journey. Members of this ministry plan two programs
a year for special need parishioners and their families-"A
Special Journey to Christmas" and a "Special Journey
to Easter". This ministry assists and encourages sacramental
preparation for our special need community.

Small Faith Sharing:
- Communities of believers who join together twice a year for
a 6-week bible study course. Courses run from October to Mid
November ending before Thanksgiving. The spring course runs
during the Lenten season ending before Holy Week. Groups encourage
each other in their faith, often developing life long personal
friendship.

St. John Neumann Serra
Club:
- A group of men and women (18 years and older) that meet to
promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Contact

Stewardship Committee:
- Committee members are responsible for educating
and encouraging parishioners in their commitment to stewardship.
This committee organizes stewardship activities throughout the
year such as the Ministry Fair, Parish Mission, Stewardship
Renewal and Christmas Celebrations.
The Committee works together with other organizations of the
parish and school to promote the sharing of God's gifts and
talents. Term 3 years; renewable.

Vacation Bible
School:
- Provides Christian formation one week during the
summer for children K-4 through 5th grade. The children have fun
learning about Jesus through lessons, crafts, storytelling, songs
and games.
